There is nothing better, on these cold, winter nights than putting on your PJ’s, sitting in front of the fire and enjoying a nice hot cup of tea.
Tea drinking has been popular over thousands of years and across multiple continents. Did you know that one of the earliest records of tea drinking dates back to the third century AD? It’s interesting that tea was used as a medicinal drink way back then and still is today.
Over the centuries, we have discovered more and more herbs and the benefits they provide when making tea.
Mudbrick Cottage Herb Farm is a family owned business in Mudgeeraba, in the Gold Coast Hinterland. The owners, Michael and Sandra have been growing and selling herbs since the late 1980’s. Sandra is a herbalist and she has used her knowledge, and Michael’s nursey skills, to build their range to over 400 plants.
Sandra has created a range of herbal tea blends which are pre-packaged for you to enjoy. These herbal tea blends are all designed to provide you with medicinal benefits. You’ll find these teas are not only enjoyable to drink but easy to construct as well. All you need to do is place a couple of teaspoons into a tea strainer and steep for 5 to 10 minutes.
This amazing cold & flu tea uses yarrow, elderflower and peppermint to make a tasty and beneficial brew. Yarrow is used for reducing fever and inflammation while elderflower also reduces catarrh and tones the mucous membranes. Then you’ll find the relieving benefits that peppermint offers for congestion and also helps to relieve headaches.
In this blend, you’ll find a selection of Dong Quai, Black Cohosh, Shatavari, Red Clover, Siberian Ginseng, Dandelion, Fennel Seed and Cinnamon. This menopause blend is formulated to help symptoms by reducing palpitations, hot flushes, balancing hormones, providing a uterine tonic, balancing blood sugar levels and helping to relieve bloating.
Sleep time tea combines chamomile, catnip, lemon balm, passionflower and skullcap. The benefits of these herbs include a sedative to calm the body, improving digestion, relieving stress, anxiety and nervous tension. All of which will lead to a peaceful night’s sleep. What a lovely cup to have before bed.
