5. Ginger

Ginger originated in China and is a flowering plant. Although it doesn’t look like the other plants in your detox garden, the ginger root has a very long history in traditional medicine. It is known to help reduce stress, aid digestion, reduce nausea and help fight cold & flu. When planting ginger make sure it has a sheltered spot with filtered sun, humidity and rich, moist soil. Ginger doesn’t like frost, direct sun, strong wind or wet feet. Harvesting is the fun part.
